About South Sea Voyagers

PLANNED FUNDRAISE AND BUILD IN 2027

One Ocean • One People • One Future

A modern voyaging canoe inspired by ancient Pacific knowledge—built to reconnect culture, community, and ocean,
and to carry real stories of climate change across our region. We will be commencing fundraising to build the first Massing Va'a to be completed by late 2027.

Our Values

Not just a canoe. A platform for connection.

Massing Va’a is a 50ft, double-hulled voyaging canoe being built through community, culture, and shared knowledge.

Drawing on the traditions of Pacific navigation and ocean stewardship, the canoe brings together Australian South Sea Islanders, Pacific communities, and coastal Australia to reconnect with the ocean—

not just as a place, but as identity.

This is about: reviving voyaging knowledge, strengthening cultural connections and sharing lived experiences of a changing ocean

Named by one, carried by many—

Massing Va’a belongs to the journey we all share.
